Certified performance Technologist

 

The CPT is a performance-based certification offered by ISPI. The certification was started in 2001. Over 1200 people in Africa, Americas, Asia, Australia, Europe, and Middle East have earned the credential.

Profile

According to the latest survey, 45% of the CPTs work in industry, 30% are consultants, 10% are academics, 10% work in government, and 3% are in the military. The top 10 industries are:


The certification is for people who are hired to analyze a situation, oversee the development of relevant and sustainable solutions, and evaluate the impact after implementation.  This Certification is for you, if you are hired to:

        • Solve complex problems in the workplace such as an unprepared workforce, ill-defined work processes, out of date systems, misaligned incentives, competing objectives, and the like

        • Help managers better align their products, processes, and people with marketplace demands

        • Find the root cause of productivity and performance problems

        • Design effective and sustainable solutions

        • Measure the adoption and impact of changes in work practices or the implementation of new systems and requirements

The standards encompass the most in demand skills according to the World Economic Forum, INC business magazine, Credly the largest dispenser of digital badges, and the American Society for Association Executives.  The most in demand skills fall under five areas. The ability to:

        • Deal with ambiguity and complexity

        • Solve complex problems and think critically

        • Adapt, be creative and innovative

        • Collaborate

        • Communicate, persuade, listen, and influence  

What is Required

To earn the certification, applicants must demonstrate the four Principles and six Standards three times by submitting three to five projects.  The projects must have been done within the last ten years.

For people who want to better understand the application process, ISPI offers a one-day workshop live and online.


Visit Events to register for the workshop. Participants get guidance on how to explain how their work demonstrated the principles and standards. They see applications that contain both good and insufficient explanations. There is an additional $50 fee for the workshop.
