Given you want to create performance-based assessments that:

  • Pre-qualify applicants
  • Assess progress against standards
  • Measure accomplishment of a credential’s standards

And you have access to the results of a job, task, role, or cognitive analyses; the results of a criticality-analysis; and a description of a credential’s standards, you will learn to:

  • Develop a test blue print or specification.
  • Select an assessment method appropriate to your need.
  • Evaluate multiple-choice and fill-in or short answer test questions and responses to confirm they comply with the standards.
  • Evaluate performance and evidence-centered assessment items to confirm they comply with the standards.
  • Confirm the reading level complies with the Global English and Plain Language Standards.
  • Measure the performance of the assessment.

The fee includes an electronic copy of the 100+ page Test Development Workbook ($45 value). It describes in detail how to develop multiple-choice, matching, short answer, and fill-in questions and performance checklists.   The workbook is used in graduate courses on evaluation and by organizations that test employees, suppliers, after-market partners, students, and certification candidates.

  • Compare questions to the standards
  • Edit questions to comply with standards
  • Develop answer choices

Fourth Module: Develop the Elements

  • Develop performance items
  • Develop instructions
  • Develop scoring rules (rubrics)
  • Edit instructions and scoring sheets to so they comply with standards
