Building Bench Strength:
Putting Training in the Driver's Seat
Training Magazine Network
Oct 15th at 12PM Pacific; 2PM Central
Building bench strength is taken for granted in professional sports. Owners and coaches plan for injuries that can put their ace pitcher, quarterback, guard, or goalie out of commission. I've rarely seen business leaders exercise the same degree of due diligence to their talent management planning. As training professionals, we are in a unique position to help. We know how to define and develop competence. We can guide leaders in identifying positions, that if not filled with competent people would put the organization at risk.
Join me and leave with a useable framework (eCAP) for helping clients better define their talent needs. The eCAP framework forces the questions of who, how many, how soon, what cost, and at what risk. Note: I taught risk management for 14 years for the Insurance Institute. I traveled with risk assessors at sites where I conducted observation interviews to capture what they saw, looked for, and questioned. Assessing risk is a perspective I bring to every engagement.
