Intended audience:  Professionals who are tasked with designing and conducting studies to identify and validate knowledge, skills, and competencies required for creating valid assessments, training events, and job descriptions.  

Objectives

Given a mandate to oversee or develop a credential, training, or performance criteria; and given the need to identify and validate the knowledge, skills, and competencies of the target audience, during this practicum-based workshop, you will learn to:

  1. Explain the difference between a job, task, role, and practice analyses including the benefits and limitation of each
  2. Select participants to reduce sampling error.
  3. Design data gathering methods to reduce content and construct errors. 
  4. Analyze the results of the study to identify domains and competencies
  5. Validate the results of the study
  6. Document the study so it meets accreditation standards
