How to Develop Performance-based Tests

This mini-webinar describes different types of performance-based tests and the value and limitations of each.  You will see good and bad examples and get a decision guide on how to choose the type of test best for your situation.  The tool includes rules for developing interactive items sets, performance-based tests, and portfolio-based tests.   

This is fifth topic in the six-part mini series on testing.  The other topics are testing basics, deciding what and how to test, and how to develop multiple-choice questions, analyze test results, and develop checklists and rubrics. 

Objectives:  You will be able to: 

  • Choose the best type of performance-based test required for situation
  • Decide what type of scoring tool to use
  • Design your performance-based test so it complies with the guidelines.
Length: 90 minutes
